Christian Beck has enjoyed playing music since the age of eight. It was in the seventies television show- "Fanfare for Young Musicians" that Christian first got some experience on stage, playing the bass clarinet in the group "Clarinetics". At Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar school, Christian played tenor saxophone in the group "Facinatin' Rhythm" as they took the sound of swing across the UK, performing for dances and private parties.
Christian then moved to Jamaica to work in the National Children's home, Kingston as a volunteer houseparent, but word got around that he could play the saxophone and over the next 5 years he was performing, touring and creating in the studio with some of the world's greatest Reggae musicians.
Having since returned to England, Christian has been playing constantly since. For more than 10 years he was a part of the six-piece function band "After Dark" who were taking the UK's function circuit by storm. He later met up with old friend Amrit Fox-Bharry and "CRAM Productions" was formed, writing music for television, film and other artists.
Christian teamed up with fellow musicians, Harry Wade, Simon Coates, Dave Price and Clint Williams in the group now known as "Indagroove", a kikkin' Jazz-Funk / Soul and Reggae collective, who are still performing to this day.
Since leaving the duo "Keep Together" in 2017, Christian has been performing as a soloist at many public and private functions throughout the UK, with popular saxophone instrumentals and vocal numbers and is becoming known for his surprisingly authentic reggae vocals - worth checking out!
With a wealth of performing experience and a soulful and expressive playing style, Christian has become one of the most sought after performing, recording & coaching saxophonists available.
